Booking Online with Beds in Italy

Booking online with Beds in Italy is a simple process. Just use our quick and easy search feature located on the left of the site to locate your chosen property then click "check availability" in the top right corner to book your accommodation.

Below is some useful information which we feel may help you when choosing the right accommodation to make your stay in Italy the most enjoyable experience possible.

HOTELS AND ROOMS
A) Properties in this site have been carefully selected or recommended to us and are considered to offer suitable accommodation for the cost shown. The Italian Tourist Authorities classify all hotels and we have indicated the official star rating by each hotel. However, differences do arise within the same category. A small hotel with only 9 rooms will differ from a larger establishment with more standard facilities and services - even though of the same category.

B) We do not have details of other bookings taken by
hoteliers/accommodation owners and are unable, therefore, to provide any information in this respect. Neither are we advised of any conference/convention bookings, school or wedding groups.

C) Annexe Accommodation may be part of the main hotel or in a separate building, which is guaranteed to be within walking distance. It should be borne in mind that annexe accommodation, though it may give access to facilities at the property through which it is sold, may not offer rooms to the same star level as the associated property where your main meal may be provided. This is reflected in the cost reduction.

D) Prices are based on accommodation in standard twin/double-bedded rooms unless otherwise stated.

E) Baths may not always be full size and showers may not always have a shower tray or curtain.

F) Many hotels/properties as a matter of policy require an imprint of your credit card to be taken at registration for security reasons. Some hotels in rural areas such as Tuscany and Sicily do not accept Credit Cards as payment for extras.

G) Check-in at hotels is normally between 12.00 - 15.00 hours and you
should anticipate having to vacate your room by 10.00 hours irrespective of the time of your departure.

H) Full and half board clients: Meals usually start with dinner on the
first day of your arrival in resort and finish with breakfast (lunch if on
fullboard) on your day of departure. If you arrive after 20.00 hours, it is
likely that a cold platter will be provided and if you have an early morning departure hotels may not be able to provide a full breakfast. Sometimes hotels may allocate tables on a shared basis and in Italy it is common for individual napkins to be re-used if clean and re-presented in a personalised envelope.

J) Air conditioning: Please note that the hours/months of operation of air conditioning remain at the discretion of the hotelier. The period of
operation is subject to local fuel saving requirements but is normally from mid-June to the beginning of September.

K) Swimming Pools: Outdoor swimming pools are normally open May - October, unless otherwise stated, but may be affected by weather conditions at the beginning and end of the summer season. However, as such facilities operate outside our control, we cannot guarantee that they will be available at all times.

L) Balconies: The payment of a supplement for a balcony facility does not guarantee it will be private or with a specific view unless stated. Balcony space may vary and may not be large enough to sit on.

M) Sea or Lake View: Many rooms with a sea or lake view may be partially obstructed by trees/or low buildings.

N) Cots: Cots are usually available in hotels and most self-catering accommodation. They should be requested at the time of booking. Cots in Italy are not all of the "drop-side" variety and may not come up to British standards of safety. Parents should therefore satisfy themselves that the hired cot is suitable for their child. Details of charges for cot hire are available on request and are payable locally. Cot linen is not provided in self catering accommodation.

P) Hotel Facilities: Leisure facilities, saunas, whirlpools, tennis and other facilities advertised as available at an hotel, unless specifically stated as being "FREE" will carry a charge payable to the hotelier.

Q) Fitness Rooms/Health Suites: Facilities will vary and we cannot guarantee the range or type of equipment provided will be as extensive as in a purpose built gym.

R) Late Night Entry: Please ensure you always check the arrangements for late night entry in the event your hotel closes the main door at a specified time.

S) Car Parking: This facility is not always available at hotels. Some hotels charge for this facility, please check when booking.

T) Single Rooms: Please note that single rooms may vary in style, dimension and comfort to other standard accommodation in your unit.

ROOM DESCRIPTIONS
Single rooms may not always offer the same facilities or location as twin
rooms and the payment of a supplement does not necessarily mean that a twin room will be provided for sole use. Often single rooms are purpose built and intended for sole use only. Three and four-bedded rooms are usually based on a twin room with additional couch/put up bed added which may restrict space. Double-beds in Italy are normally one large base with two mattresses. Junior Suite - bedroom with lounge space. Suite - bedroom with separate lounge. Dulex suite - on two levels.

ACCOMMODATION CATEGORIES
Rooms described as superior, suites, junior suites, apartments etc., offer a variety of facilities and room configurations. As these descriptions vary considerably from hotel to hotel, it is not possible for us to provide a standard description which will adequately cover all the variations. Therefore, please make specific enquiries when booking to ensure the accommodation meets your requirements.

VILLAS & APARTMENTS
Accommodation is normally available from 12.00-14.00 hours on arrival and you should anticipate checking out by 09.00 hours on departure. Facilities & Costs: All self-catering villas and apartments are equipped with refrigerators, cooking facilities as described for each property, crockery, utensils and linen (except beach towels). Water, gas and electricity are included in the price. Cleaning is done on arrival is . Additional cleaning can be arranged, payable locally.

SELF-CATERING - BREAKAGE DEPOSITS
On arrival at self-catering apartments and villas, you will usually be required by the owner or their agent to pay a deposit against any damage or breakages. This is refundable on departure or later and it is in your own interests to leave the accommodation and its contents as you find them as deductions for damage or excessive cleaning costs may be made. Deposits are usually payable in cash, travellers’ cheques or Eurocheques. Credit cards and personal cheques are not accepted. The deposit required for your accommodation is stated on the Itinerary supplied with your travel documents - normally e155 per villa (approx £200). Please make arrangements direct with the owner at the end of your holiday to arrange a suitable time for inspection of the villa & refund of the deposit.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
Any special requests or requirements which you may have such as vegetarian meals, special facilities for certain medical conditions, wheelchairs, specific room allocations or any other requirement which is important to you should be made directly in writing to us before you book. If you require the fulfilment of your request to be a condition of your contract with us, we can only accept it if we write to you to confirm that your request can be fulfilled. Otherwise any such requests cannot be guaranteed by us or our suppliers, nor be included as part of your holiday contract. We will note such requests on your confirmation invoice, but this cannot be taken as an indication that fulfilment of your request has been guaranteed.

FOOD
Vegetarian/Special Diets: Vegetarianism is becoming more common in Italy and hotels will generally try to include some suitable dishes but clients requesting such meals may find choice limited in some hotels. Similarly, it may be difficult for some hotels to cater for strict special diets.

Continental breakfast is normally tea or coffee with bread, rolls and brioches. Fruit juice and other extras may be available for a charge, payable locally. Buffet breakfast normally includes a choice of bread and rolls, croissants or brioches, cereals, fruit juices, cheese, fruit in season, boiled or scrambled eggs, butter, jams and a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Items may vary. American Buffet breakfast gives a wider choice which may include a selection of hot dishes, and a larger choice of fresh fruit, juices, cheeses, cakes and pastries. In some hotels, only the cold buffet is included in the price, with a charge for hot dishes.

LOCAL HOLIDAYS
Certain facilities and museums may not be available during local and National holidays. Please note that many galleries and museums are closed on Mondays. Further information may be obtained from the Italian State Tourist Office: 1, Princes Street, London W1R 8AY. Tel. 0207-408 1254. Entrance to certain tourist sites may require a smart dress code.

CREDIT CARDS IN ITALY
Please note that major cards are usually accepted in shops and restaurants in the larger cities but this may not be the case in some resorts and in more rural areas, such as Tuscany or Sicily. Some smaller petrol stations do not accept cards, especially in rural areas. Eurocheques are no longer accepted for changing money in banks. Many of our hotels will accept credit cards for extras. Our staff will be happy to give you further advice.

NOISE
In early and late summer season resorts are less busy and consequently less noisy. Italy is not an excessively noisy country, but traffic and other sounds can present problems in most places of the world today, particularly in cities. Make sure you read the resort and hotel descriptions carefully to help you identify those whichare stated to be in quiet locations and those which may not be (e.g. hotels in or close to town or city centres, or near main railway lines or roads).

BUILDING WORK/Disturbance
Building or road works may be in progress in the vicinity of your accommodation which we are unable to prevent or control and noise levels may cause some disturbance. Some Italian towns and cities are currently undergoing renovation and regeneration of some tourist sites. Consequently, whilst the majority of sites remain open they may be partially covered or scaffolding may be present.

LOCAL CONDITIONS
Please note that you may experience in your accommodation, when visiting cities, traffic and other similar sounds. In the countryside, if you are on a farm, work can start early, and fresh farmyard smells and insects and field mice are all common features of the rural lifestyle. You may also be woken up very early in the morning by the sound of cocks crowing!
